Kim Walsh has worked for the new Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall for just over 4 months. Before that she worked for the Diocese of Alexandria-Cornwall for almost 13 years. Over the years, she has held a variety of positions with the diocese. From 2012 to 2019 she was the Chancellor of the Diocese of Alexandria-Cornwall. It was in this role as Chancellor that she developed an interest in archives since the Chancellor is legally the keeper of a diocese’s records. Since she did not know much, well actually anything about archives she turned to CAG! Pretty much anything she knows is thanks to these conferences and the generosity of the “real” archivists of CAG. She is a lawyer by training, though by choice, has not practiced law that much. She had very much looked forward to attending the conference in person so is disappointed that it’s a virtual conference, though of course definitely better than no conference. However, her Shepherd and her Great Pyrenees are very happy she is attending the conference from home.
