Lea de la Paz is Archivist/Records Manager for the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton. Prior to assuming the post in 2016, she worked for 11 years with the General Council office and General Council Archives of The United Church of Canada (UCC) in Toronto. She considers it an honour to have served in the Independent Assessment Process for Residential Schools and in the document submission process to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission during her time at the UCC.
Lea is an immigrant from the Philippines. While there she worked for the Archives of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila, an institution that maintains its own Paper Conservation Laboratory and the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation News Archives.
She obtained her Master of Library Science from the University of the Philippines and her Máster en Archivística (Archives and Records Management) from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Spain.
